TFA Members and Friends,
As Christmas arrives, we want to begin simply and sincerely.
We wish you and your family a blessed and peaceful Christmas and Holiday Season. This is a time set apart — for faith, family, rest, and gratitude. It is a moment to step back from daily conflict and remember what truly matters: the blessings we have received and the responsibilities we carry toward one another.
Christmas reminds us that hope is real, that truth matters, and that even in difficult times there is meaning beyond the struggle and a life to come that is free from many of our secular contests. We encourage you to enjoy this season fully — to be present with those you love, to give thanks, and to rest.
That pause, however, is only a pause.
When the new year arrives, Tennessee will be entering a decisive period for the future of the right to keep and bear arms. The 2026 legislative session and election cycle will test not only laws and policies, but the resolve of those who claim to value constitutional liberty. It will also test whether those who took an oath to serve us and to protect our constitutionally protected rights actually meant it when the campaign promises ended and the work of changing the law began.
Experience has taught us that freedom is rarely lost all at once. It erodes through delay, intentional compromises, selective enforcement, and officials who promise fidelity to the Constitution while practicing something very different once elected. That truth is never more evident than when those in complete control of government fail to carry out the promises that they made to induce our support. The pressures will intensify in the months ahead.
Preparation matters — and it must begin before the fight is visible.
In 2025, the Tennessee Firearms Association continued laying the groundwork for the battles of 2026: identifying legislation that must be advanced or stopped, educating voters, holding public officials accountable, and ensuring that candidates understand they will be judged by actions, not slogans. But it did not stop there! After 16 years of broken promises, we also increasingly took our claims for relief to the courts - and we have been winning!
That work cannot succeed without engaged, informed, and committed individuals who are willing to stand firm on the protection and restoration of our rights. When the time comes, we will ask you to stand with us — not in anger, but in resolve; not recklessly, but deliberately; not passively, but with purpose.
For now, enjoy Christmas. Take this season for what it is meant to be.
But as the new year approaches, be ready. The coming fight will require clarity, unity, and courage — and Tennessee’s future, your rights and the rights of your children and grandchildren depend on it.
May you and your family be abundantly blessed this Christmas season, and may the year ahead find us prepared for the work before us.
