Happy Thanksgiving!
Friend,
I hope that your Thanksgiving was exactly the way you wanted it to be. I have to say that I worked hard, preparing the Thanksgiving Day meal (which I said that I was not going to do!). Shopping, chopping, peeling, boiling, carving, baking and mixing, etc. The best consolation after all the work was eating with my family as we all sat together enjoying each others company.
My son prepared the turkey, stuffing and mashed potatoes. Delicious.
We didn't take any photos and I took a break from my smart phone and social media for much of two days. I shopped with my daughter and grand kids for groceries and watched several good movies on TV with my son. It was a perfect Thanksgiving Holiday for us. we have so much to be thankful for.
This year as we reflected on our loved ones who are no longer with us, we smiled and told stories, we shared good memories about past family holidays and old recipes which were used to prepare some of the dishes on the table.
The only tears were mine during the blessing of our food and the Thanksgiving prayer. My heart was so full of the goodness of God, but I held it back as best I could to not spoil it for anyone else (but I'm sure they heard the tremble in my voice). I thanked God for everything that I could think of without making the prayer too long (people don't like long prayers when it's time to eat). LOL
It was a good Thanksgiving, now moving forward.
