Subject: How Does Your Team Transform for the Long Term?

Note: You are receiving this email because either you expressed an interest in, or received a copy of Michael's Amazon bestselling book "You Are the Team—6 Simple Ways Teammates Can Go from Good to Great."

Hi All,

Recently I wrote a post on my blog around the key to transforming teams.

I have found in my career that most of the finger pointing on teams is at the leader or other teammates, but rarely is the finger pointing back at the person pointing the finger.

Maybe you can relate?

I wrote You Are the Team with the purpose of getting teammates to take a careful look at their own behavior and performance on the team.

I believe, and I have found, that the transformation of any team starts with the transformation of its members. Whether you are the leader of a team or a teammate, it always starts with you. Every member of every team has to ask themselves what they can do to make the team better.

I call this working from the Inside Out. Most team building and team training works from the outside in. They work on the team with the hope of changing each member of the team. This is backwards.

Team members have to first think about their contribution to the team and personally commit to the team before any type of team building can be effective. Without starting with the individual you get more compliance (going through the motions) to a team building event or activity than you do long lasting change.

Note: I recently developed a speaking page that includes information on my keynotes, workshop (based off the book), written and video testimonials and speaking samples. I am always available to talk about your teams' needs and explore options. Feel free to call me at 1-888-310-3338 or shoot me a note at info@michaelgrogers.com
