SwordSearcher 8.3 Released!
I am happy to announce a new release of SwordSearcher, version 8.3! Please head over to the upgrade page for all the details.

As I began preparing this announcement, I realized that this marks the 25th anniversary of SwordSearcher Bible Software. The first version of SwordSearcher was uploaded to the internet in 1994 under the name Bible Assistant. 25 years! Amazing! Thank you to everyone who continues to support the development of SwordSearcher. It is an honor to be able to do this!
So, what's new in version 8.3? Here's a short summary:

New Library Modules:
  • James Nisbet’s Church Pulpit Commentary [Nisbet] (12 Vols, 1908)
  • Handfuls on Purpose [Handfuls] (James Smith and Robert Lee, 13 volumes, 1943)
  • The Essential Works of A. W. Tozer [AWTozer]
(Nine books from the life and ministry of A. W. Tozer, 1897-1963)
New and enhanced Audio Bible Support:
  • SwordSearcher has supported the integration of an audio Bible for several years, but this functionality has been significantly enhanced for SwordSearcher 8.3.
  • Now there are nine audio Bibles directly supported with automatic verse highlighting and playback synchronization!
  • The audio play bar has been improved to give you control over the playback speed.
  • And now you can link an unlimited number of audio Bibles into SwordSearcher at the same time.
  • The audio Bible page has the details. And, the help file tells you how to actually link audio Bibles into your Bible panel for playback.
And as always, every new update comes with the opportunity to fix issues that have been reported as bugs, and improve things here-and-there. A lot of the work that has been put into this update doesn't sound like "big new features," but it all matters and helps make SwordSearcher the robust and stable application that it is. See the full revision history for detail on what's been done.
