Every Fabric Has a Hack to Make it Easier Slippery fabrics driving you crazy? Silk charmeuse, satin, rayon challis, lining fabrics, and other drapey textiles can slide all over the cutting table and be frustrating to sew. My favorite solution is to soak the fabric in a diluted solution of Perfect Sew and allow it to dry. Perfect sew is a liquid fabric stabilizer. It temporarily gives the fabric a crisp, paper-like feel that removes slipping while cutting and sewing transforming the sewing experience to that of a cotton fabric. The fabric feeds beautifully through both your sewing machine and serger. When your garment is complete, simply rinse or wash the fabric and the stiffness disappears, leaving your fabric soft and flowing again. Learn more about Perfect Sew here. |
