Don't miss the "list of lists" at the bottom of the page for more great summer reading recs!

NPR is recommending 8 Books to Enjoy at the Beach This Summer an a recent list of 14 Books that NPR Staff and Critics are Living the Most, but that's not all NPR has to offer! Check out their books page for year-round lists, reviews, author interviews, and more—or listen to NPR's Book of the Day podcast for bite-sized audio book reviews.

The New York Times recommends 88 Books to Bring Your Summer Alive in categories like thrillers, true crime, romance, and travel (accompanied by some truly fantastic floral artwork!) Don't forget, you can access The New York Times for free with your library card!

Is your library card about to expire? 😱

This is a good time to make sure that your library card is active!

Did you know that Berlin-Peck Library accounts expire automatically, every three years, regardless of how often you use the library? Renewing your library card provides an opportunity for library staff to update your contact information. It can also help us measure our current impact on our community and affect how we are funded. Renewing your card is simple—just visit the front desk with your driver's license or a piece of mail showing your address.

We encourage all of our summer reading participants to have a valid Connecticut library card. Your Connecticut library card may be used at any public library in the state!
