With one week left in Adult Summer Reading 2026, we're up to 274 readers and a combined reading total of 2144 books!

August 20 is the LAST day to add books and use your tickets!

We run raffle drawings at 12:00 pm, so make sure you enter your virtual raffle tickets by noon on Thursday, August 20.

If you're saving your tickets for the prize cart, remember to redeem them by Saturday, August 22. After that, we're putting the prize cart away until next year.

End of Summer Party!

I love a book that feels like a vacation! Sarah Penner’s book took me to the Italian coast, with plenty of delicious details. This story was part mystery, part historical romance, with just enough fantasy to keep things interesting. Grab your snorkeling gear and dive in!

Simple Dreams by Linda Ronstadt

Is so much more that I was unaware of about Linda Ronstadt. To date she's truly led a unique life and she was so much more than just a rockstar. Her depth and knowledge of music come deep from her family heritage and her talent was limitless. I enjoyed reading it and learned so much about her and her life as a musician and person. I would recommend it.

My Effin' Life by Getty Lee

If you enjoy reading and biographies about musicians don't miss this one about Getty Lee from Rush. It's not your ordinary rock and roll book but it talks about his family's struggle all the way from immigrating to the United States, to his parents meeting in a concentration camp. A really fascinating read. I highly suggest it.

One winner this week!

The winner of our sixth raffle on August 13 (Berlin Kiosks Gift Card + BPML tote bag) was Damreads. This raffle basket had 236 entries.

Leaderboards

The Pepper Patch is still planted in first place, but we have a late-game upset at the top of the leaderboard! The Bee Society has inched up into second place, followed by the Pear Posse in third place. The Apple Alliance remains in fourth place, the Ladybug League in fifth place, and the Butterfly Collective in sixth place. Finally, we have the Beet Syndicate bringing up the rear.

pearlmsqueaks is firmly planted in first place. TheRantingGnome has moved up to second place, with equintana in third place. szy09 is in fourth place and ntine10 in fifth place. Holly has inched up into sixth place, followed by sharonkay in sixth place. Beth has returned into eighth place, and calbain has sprouted up into ninth place. Finally, we have toastywitch in tenth place.
