What is your favorite reading location or situation?
At the beach, a quiet beach, my feet in the water, relaxing in my beach chair- not too hot. However, come winter, I love reading cozy on the couch with my favorite blanket, a fire going in the fire place, a candle burning on the coffee table, and the Christmas tree lit.
Do you have any special reading habits or rituals?
I read before bed, and with a flash light! Yes, I’m a grown adult. I have a light that wraps around my neck. It’s perfect for nighttime reading.
What advice would you give to someone trying to read more?
Audiobooks! Life changing! As I get ready for work, doing chores, or anything around the house- I can have a headphone on and listen to a book while I go about my day.
Do you ever get stuck in a reading rut? How do you get yourself reading again?
Oh yes! It happens, several times a year. To get going again, I set page number goals, and once the book is done I try and change genres and author. I’ve learned I can’t binge a series or author. I need to read a different author/series in between the author/series I want to read.
How do you usually find your next read?
Do I judge books by it’s cover- yes! I window shop around, or sometimes visit authors I like and see if they have any new books out. Goodreads, Hoopla, and Libby also have books that they suggest. I have to say the search feature on Libby is very cool. They have some great suggestions when you click on the filters.
Have you ever read something outside your usual genre that you loved? What was it? What did you love about it?
Theo of Golden– not my normal book/read. Judging by the cover I’d skip over it… Not really my cup of tea- BUT my friend made me read it. OH- I laughed, cried, and thought about the book for days- months! I read it in May and I still catch myself thinking of some of the characters.

The author Rachel Hanna-easy breezy books loved The Bucket List.
Katherine Center– I’ve enjoyed all the books I’ve read by her.
And as mentioned above- Theo of Golden. Just try it! It’s Allen Levi’s debut book. It was certainly a hit!
