A little moment from my week that filled my heart...
I was out on a long, wintery walk with my two beloved Groodles, Ruffley and Rae Rae, sporting my very fashion-forward (read: windswept) dog-walking gear — complete with a bright pink sausage-dog-print bandana on my head — when a tiny Cavoodle trotted past us. (Btw, it's winter here in Australia).
Out of nowhere, the Cavoodle's mum looked at me and said, “Are you the violin teacher?”
Caught a little off guard, I laughed and said, “Yes, I am a violin teacher!”
Turns out, they’ve just moved back to the area — and her daughter had started her violin journey with Stringosaurus a few years ago. It was one of those programs taught in school, so I only knew the family through email updates and little explainer videos I’d send home — but of course I remembered her daughter!
And here’s the bit that made me tear up a little... she's still playing violin. And still loving it.
All thanks to those very first joyful, playful lessons with the Stringosaurus curriculum.
Moments like these remind me why I do what I do. You never really know the seeds you’re planting — but sometimes, they grow into something lasting and beautiful.
To all my fellow teachers, parents, and musical little ones: keep showing up, keep sharing music with joy — it matters more than you know.
And if you ever want to see what Stringosaurus is all about, you’re warmly welcome: www.stringosaurus.com
