Subject: August Resource-of-the-Month: Line-Up Your Violin
The gentle rustle of leaves falling in the background. A quiet room. The steady, calm focus of a child finding their balance.
Teaching posture to 3–8 year olds doesn't have to feel like a constant battle of physical corrections.
It can be a simple moment of peaceful, grounding body awareness.
This month's resource, Line Up Your Violin & Viola, invites little ones to settle into their setup routine using a lovely, lullaby-like backing track.
Guide your students to sing along and copy the actions during the first half, checking their nose, strings, elbow, and foot. In the second half, the music shifts to a steady beat for G and D string pizzicato.
My students who lean toward sensory avoidance love how quiet and peaceful it is, while my sensory seekers feel beautifully regulated by the gentle movement.
This routine has been a total sanity-saver in my own studio, so I hope you and your students enjoy using it this week!
Keep up the amazing work,
Laura
