Workshops In Focus

Children's Hearings Scotland

What's happening?

An interactive workshop exploring how Children’s Hearings Scotland involves young people with lived experience in recruitment, sharing learning, challenges and good practice through discussion, role play and values-based recruitment activities.

Meet the Presenters

Angela Phillips - Participation Lead

My mission is to ensure any child or young person who has experience of children’s hearings can take part in meaningful activities to have their voice heard to influence our work as well as the wider sector. A fun fact about me is that I love strongman competitions.

Oliwia Jankowska - Expert by Experience

My aim is to ensure that every child or young person involved in the children’s hearing system feels genuinely heard, treated with compassion, and fully supported throughout the entire process. A fun fact about me is that I absolutely love delicious food and cannot start my day without a great coffee.

Gemma Ferrie - Expert by Experience

I want Children's Hearings to be a better experience for young people. A fun fact about me is that I've been to Iceland, including crossing the line into the Arctic Circle just north of mainland Iceland.
