Today California-based Spectrum Wine Auctions announced the hiring of Erin McGrath as a new, San Francisco Bay Area-based Consignment Director. Erin brings to Spectrum over a decade of experience in the fine wine arena, with seven years specifically in the wine auction field. Most recently, Erin headed the US Wine Department for Bonhams, overseeing over $4 million in fine and rare wine consignments across eight sales as the sole specialist for the international company’s US operations. Previously, Erin was a specialist with Heritage, where she gained significant experience in fine and rare wine appraisal, inspection and assessment, and consignment procurement across 20 live sales and 55 monthly online sales. A seasoned fine wine appraiser, Erin has valued collections ranging up to $6 million+ and assisted in multiple high-profile single-owner cellar acquisitions. A graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Erin holds the WSET Advanced Level III Award with Distinction and is a current WSET Diploma candidate. She has been interviewed for Mansion Global among other publications and has presented numerous seminars on collecting to financial advisory and legal firms throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Erin's current focus as a wine collector is building a library of her favorite, extraordinary Champagnes to enjoy for many years to come.
