Vineyard 29.

One of Napa Valley’s most iconic wineries.

And they’ve given us an early Christmas present.

Vineyard 29 was founded in 1989 with the planting of a 3-acre vineyard under the watchful eye of lauded vineyard manager David Abreu and, within a year, planted cuttings from neighbors, Grace Family Vineyards.

The turn of the century ushered in the next phase of Vineyard 29. Along with the Vineyard 29 property, Chuck and Anne McMinn acquired the historic Aida Vineyard in 2000 as a perfect complement to the Vineyard 29 site for expansion of the winery’s portfolio.

Wine production is led by veteran winemaker Keith Emerson. The winery under Keith’s watchful eye has produced some of the Napa Valley’s greatest Cabernets…including today’s offer.

The Vineyard 29 Cabernet Sauvignon Aida Vineyard 2021 is another masterpiece from winemaker Keith Emerson. As noted before, the Aida Vineyard is located just north of the ‘pinch’ in the hourglass of the valley in St. Helena. It features rockier soils and a warmer climate producing richly endowed Cabernets with a TON of flavor, all blackberries, cassis, dark chocolate…especially in the brilliant 2021 vintage.

97 Points! Another gem of a wine from this estate, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Aida Estate includes 1% Petit Verdot and spent 20 months in French oak. It has a darker red and blue-slanted fruit profile as well as some classic tobacco, scorched earth, and graphite aromatics. These all carry to a medium to full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon with a seamless, layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe, building tannins, and a pure, focused style that will benefit from 3-4 years of bottle age. The balance, purity, and sheer class here are top notch, and this will see its 20th birthday in fine form. - Jeb Dunnuck

96 Points! The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Aida Estate is a super-classic wine from this sector of St. Helena. Dark, sumptuous and beautifully resonant, the 2021 wraps around the palate with striking depth. Black fruit, mocha, new leather, spice and espresso all build over time. A focus on Cabernet Sauvignon over blenders in recent years has paid off big time. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

This wine was originally $315 retail, but we’re offering this one out today at a crazy $129.98 a bottle.
