Pittsburgh Regional Transit is seeking a Training Coordinator to coordinate all aspects of New Hire Orientation; obtain, modify, present, and evaluate training associated with employee orientation. Administrator employee special programs including but not limited to tuition refund, student loan repayment assistance, and police training and education incentive. To learn, develop, present, and evaluate existing training courses. Conduct applicant background screenings when necessary.

Essential Functions:  

• Coordinates and conducts new hire orientation by creating and distributing communications to PRT’s new hires and presenters. Proctors new hire orientations and acts as a liaison between new hire and hiring department. Conducts new hire orientation tours and monitors completion of orientation trainings.

• Coordinates and monitors employee tuition programs, tuition reimbursement and student loan repayment assistance.

• Coordinates and monitors dependent care assistance program.

• Responsibilities will include coordinating additional programs identified for employee recruitment and retention.

• Coordinates and monitors police training and education incentive program.

• Conducts background checks on perspective candidates which includes various communications to verify education, previous and current employers. Utilizes the internet to conduct criminal record check and motor vehicle record status.
