Port Authority is seeking a Manager of Rail Car Maintenance to manage, coordinate, and monitor all light rail vehicle maintenance service delivery and administrative activities to ensure safe and reliable light rail vehicle operations.

Essential Functions:
- Plans, directs, and manages the activities of the Rail Car Maintenance Department. Develops departmental goals and objectives in support of Port Authority’s operating plans, goals, and objectives.
- Directs and supervises activities within the Heavy Repair and Running Repair Departments. Meets regularly with assistant managers to review and resolve maintenance issues and problems.
- Manages department matters relating to hiring, promotions, transfers, evaluations, training, other personnel actions, and monitors standardized Port Authority programs such as health and safety, drug and alcohol, attendance, workers’ compensation, safety, and apprenticeship program as they relate to rail car and electronic maintenance.
- Develops, monitors, and maintains appropriate records for all light rail vehicle maintenance activities. Develops, implements, and monitors cost control initiatives, system and process controls, tracking methods, evaluation and measurement systems, and productivity enhancements.
