#SoulBlast - Please Join Black Assembly-Political Action in Supporting Ed Gainey for Mayor!

In the last fifty (50) years there have been some remarkable Black men who have run for Mayor of the city of Pittsburgh civil rights leader attorney Byrd Brown, activist pastor Rev. James Simms, and former Courier columnist and long-time political advocate for our community Louis Hop Kenrick.

-------------

Today we are presented with another unique Black man, State Representative Ed Gainey now in his sixth (6) term as representative of the city’s East end neighborhoods. A powerful voice for Pittsburgh’s Black and working-class people he has been a familiar presence and voice for social justice. He has demonstrated and spoke of his commitment to help the families, children, and neighborhoods of all Pittsburghers.

-------------

Alone among those Black men who sought the office of mayor he has an extensive record of serving in elected office and by gaining the endorsement of the Democratic party he has gained a position that is unequaled and offers a chance to realize decades old dreams of Black political achievement.

-------------

In this historical moment it is time to step up!
