Pittsburgh Links Chapter Acknowledges Local Student
Poster Art Competition Participants

The Pittsburgh Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, is pleased to
recognize the following students for their submissions for the
2020 National Poster Art Competition.

Darren Woodward, Navarro Middle School, age 11
Layonni Hamilton, Liberty Elementary, age 8
Jamera Green, Mifflin Elementary, age 11

---------------------

This Health-Centered Competition focused on the theme “Transforming Communities by Making Health a Habit” and encouraged student submissions from Allegheny County. The competition was created in 1995 in conjunction with The Links, Incorporated’s National Walk-a-Thon. The competition’s theme is traditionally focused on health and entries depict healthy, energetic, and active lifestyles. Young artists were encouraged to incorporate sub-themes including, but not limited to, a healthy and clean environment, a bully-free world, and an inclusive and diverse society as elements related to healthy and happy communities.

The winner of the Pittsburgh competition is Darren Woodard of Navarro Middle School. Darren created a beautiful poster titled THE GODDESS OF CURE using colored pencils. Darren will be featured in Soul Pitt and KDKA-TV for his recognition and accomplishment.
