This powerful stage production unites Pittsburgh artists, musicians, and writers to bring Bonita Lee Penn’s vision to life. Rooted in Black Church traditions and ancestral memory, it also traces her personal journey to spiritual identity—exploring practices that survived the Middle Passage and still shape us today through the Ring Shout, call and response, and more.

Join us for this one-night-only poetic stage experience at 7:00 p.m., Saturday, June 14, 2025, at the Carnegie Museum Art Theater, 4400 Forbes Avenue, Pittsburgh 15213.
Self-pay parking is available at the Museum/Theater location.

Tickets are available online, at https://GITW2025.eventbrite.com. Doors open at 6:00 P.M.
Following the performance, stay for a community Q&A with the artists.
This production is made possible through the Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh Grant, a prestigious initiative by The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Heinz Endowments, supporting Black artists in creating transformative work.
