Every volunteer, employee, and girl are important elements of the Girl Scout Movement. We work together to teach girls how to be confident in their leadership skills, how to work harder after a failure, and how to embrace the unfamiliar. POSITION:    Member Recruitment Specialist; full-time
Location:      Pittsburgh, North Shore;

As a member of the recruitment team, you will work with other Recruitment Specialists and volunteer recruiters to generate excitement about and increase awareness of Girl Scouting. 

Essential Functions:

  • Design and execute effective recruiting strategies for girl and adult membership growth through in-person meetings, presentations, and networking opportunities;   
  • Seek new opportunities and cultivate community contacts to positively impact membership growth;
  • Work with and support volunteer recruiters in assigned area to ensure coordinated recruitment efforts, as well as consistent approach and messaging;
  • Host recruitment events in assigned area;
  • Ensure Girl Scouting is open to all girls and adults;


  • Degree in marketing, communications, sales, related field or equivalent professional experience;
  • 2 years of work experience in related field of work with proven member recruitment and customer engagement;
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines;
  • Top notch communicator – writes well, confidently presents to large groups, facilitates effective two-way communications with a wide variety of audiences;
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook and ability to learn new systems;
  • Must possess a can-do mentality, be responsible, and be a lifelong learner;
  • Must be organized, detail orientated, and customer focused;
  • Ability and willingness to work primarily on-the-road with minimal time in office;
  • Willingness and availability to work days, evenings and weekends and flexible hours as needed;
  • Have reliable transportation and be able to travel throughout assigned area and Western PA;
