The Pittsburgh Union of Regional Renters believe that housing is a human right, not an object to be bought and sold for maximum corporate profit. They believe it is possible to create a just housing system in which everyone has affordable and dignified place to call home. They have come together to share tools and best practices to create equitable communities with healthy well maintained rental housing, development without displacement and communities in control. Join them for the 2019 Housing Summit.
It kicks off Friday with a Community Rent Party on Friday November 22 where attendees have a chance to win $500 towards their rent. Saturday's Summit on November 23 will host a series of workshops and table talks on property wealth building, community organizing, tenant rights and more.
This is a free event. Must register. Breakfast and lunch provided. Hosted by Pittsburgh Union of Regional Renters and the Housing Justice.
