#IAmBecoming Hooked on Cleveland

| My husband David is so supportive. He braved a crowd of mostly women to come with me to see "Becoming Michelle Obama" in Cleveland this Saturday at KeyBank State Theatre in Playhouse Square. It was a jammed packed sold out show! The lines just to buy merchandise once inside were chaotic, full of excited women squeezing and maneuvering through the frenzy as if Mrs. Obama herself would be upfront to sell you the items. Needless to say, the former First Lady got everyone inspired while leaving us contemplating ourselves as to what we are "Becoming." #IAmBecoming was the hashtag of the night and throughout her tour. Search for it on social media sites like Twitter and you'll be able to follow the discussions around it. Now what I really love about Cleveland (yes, I can still love this city and be a Steelers fan too LOL) is its close proximity to Pittsburgh; just a 2 hour drive, and the amount of soulful events, culture, and can't forget the soul food they have. We visited Zanzibar Soul Fusion while we were there and let's just say I am still thinking about their Soul Roll (like an egg roll, but full of soul food & love), catfish, greens, and mac & cheese. So next time you wanna get out of town, check out Cleveland, but leave the black and gold at home! |
