PBMF Black Male Media Project,
#InspireBlackMen

Noon to 2:30 p.m. June 10, 2017

@ Homewood-Brushton YMCA
7140 Bennett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15208

The Pittsburgh Black Media Federation invites aspiring and professional photographers/videographers to a networking and mentoring forum,
PBMF Black Male Media Project, #InspireBlackMen.

Attendees will discuss the images of black males in media and the value of black men working in newsrooms and media.

Attendees are welcome to bring their cameras to talk shop.  Those who would like to showcase and discuss their own photos and short videos of black males working and living in Pittsburgh communities may bring them on thumb drives to be shown on a large projector screen.

High school and college students,
especially males, with an interest in photography are encouraged to attend.

The free forum will be an interactive discussion, NOT a lecture.

PBMF will provide lunch.

**Please RSVP at PBMFBlackMaleMedia.eventbrite.com
by June 8.**

This forum also will be a kickoff event for “American Heroes: The Homewood Project,” in which community members will identify black men who are making a difference in the neighborhood.  Those men will be featured in a photo series created by aspiring and professional photographers for an exhibit in July.

Photographers can sign up to volunteer for
“American Heroes” at the June 10 forum.

For more information, contact PBMF at
412-339-0730 or info@pbmf.org.

The Black Male Media Project is a nationwide effort launched by the National Association of Black Journalists to inspire, support and develop training and mentorship opportunities for black men working in journalism and media and those that aspire to do so.  About 25 association chapters, including PBMF, are participating in the project.
