  The Pittsburgh Black Media Federation  presents the 28th annual  Robert L. Vann Media Awards Dinner
  6 p.m. Thursday, May 19, 2016 University of Pittsburgh, O'Hara Student Center 4024 O'Hara St., 2nd Floor, ballroom Pittsburgh, PA 15213
  The Vann Media Awards celebrate the best of print, broadcast, photography and online journalism coverage of the African-American community of Western Pennsylvania.
  Also, three special awards will be presented at the ceremony: 
  • The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Harold Hayes, recently retired, veteran reporter at KDKA-TV. •  The Legacy Award will be presented to Debbie Norrell, lifestyle editor at the New Pittsburgh Courier and a former radio talk show host and anchor. •  The Literacy Champion Award will be presented to Lorena Amos, a retired English teacher, co-founder of the United Black Book Clubs of Pittsburgh and literacy advocate.
  Bofta Yimam, anchor at WTAE-TV, and Damany Lewis, anchor at WPXI-TV, will co-host the Vann program.
