The application deadline for the
Pittsburgh Black Media Federation's
34th annual Frank Bolden
Urban Multimedia Workshop is May 21.


  During the FREE workshop, media professionals train teens in online, photo, video and broadcast journalism with the hope of inspiring them to pursue careers in the field.

Applicants should be rising high school sophomores,
juniors or seniors, or 2017 graduates. 
Students may apply online at www.pbmf.org.

This workshop will be held at Point Park University
on four consecutive Saturdays:
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 15  and
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 22, July 29 and Aug. 5. 
In addition, students participating in the TV broadcasting section will attend a taping at KDKA-TV from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Aug. 3.

Workshop alumni have gone on to have successful careers at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, American Urban Radio Networks, New Pittsburgh Courier, The Washington Post, CNBC, Reuters and other media outlets.
