Updates and announcements for the volunteer community.

Volunteer Month

is Coming to a Close!

We have had a great month celebrating and recognizing your efforts as dedicated volunteers. Thank you to everyone who participated in our many events. Here are a few updates about Volunteer Month:

  • SMART Recovery Training Scholarship Fund: We are pleased to announce that we raised over $8,500 for the SMART Recovery Training Scholarship Fund! Thank you to everyone who has donated. Donations are still being accepted: Click Here to Donate.

  • Scholarship Applications: We continue to receive applications for SMART Recovery Training Scholarships. There is still time to apply! If you believe a meeting participant or person in your community who would make a great facilitator, you can refer them to our scholarship application form. Application deadline is 11:59 p.m. on April 30, 2021.

  • You Asked; We Answered: Over the course of Volunteer Month, we received many questions from our volunteers. We are providing this list of Questions & Answers for those who asked and others who might find themselves asking similar questions.

Thank You to Our Volunteers!

On behalf of all the SMART Recovery Board of Directors, staff and stakeholders, THANK YOU to all the committed and talented volunteers who make SMART Recovery the world class organization it is. Watch this heartfelt appreciation video.

Take 5 Spotlight

Get to Know the People Behind SMART Recovery

We’re always looking for ways to build and improve our relationship with you, our treasured volunteers. We’ve done a few things along those lines over the years that have helped, but this time we’ve decided to make it simple and quick by having team members answer a few questions (5, to be exact) about what they do. Maybe more importantly, why they do it. Read more about the Take 5 initiative.

Meet

Jodi Dayton

If you want to talk about longevity at SMART Recovery, the conversation starts and stops with Jodi Dayton. Clearly the match was made to last.

Meet

Jas Hilbert

Meet Leah McSween

If you called Office Assistant Leah McSween’s journey to SMART employment quick, then you might just be understating it. As Leah points out, “I think from application date to hire date was two weeks. Kind of a whirlwind.” While due in part to SMART’s being a smaller agency back in 2019, it also indicated the fit was right, and both sides knew it.
