2019 was a big year for SMART Recovery – and we have you to thank for it! This year marked 25 years of self-empowered, science-based recovery meetings, and millions of lives touched by our program. None of this could have happened without YOU, our outstanding community of SMART participants, volunteers, and supporters who are helping us lead a 21st century recovery revolution. Together we will change the addiction recovery landscape, now and for future generations. In this email, we provide a look at some of the meaningful ways your support was put to work in 2019. | | Through your generous support, SMART Recovery was able to do some pretty amazing things this year! Tremendous progress was made in Washington D.C. in introducing SMART Recovery to leading members of Congress, especially those crafting legislation to end the opioid and larger addiction epidemic. We made significant progress in our efforts to obtain multimillion-dollar funding to bring our meetings to everyone who needs the self-empowering support that SMART provides individuals and their family members and friends. Read Part 1 and Part 2 updates. Our online meeting software was upgraded. This opened our online meetings up to many more participants and added the option of video conferencing. Learn more about this upgrade. A redesigned and reorganized SMARTRecovery.org was launched.
