Subject: USPS Shipment Delays

Dear Customer,

You are receiving this email because your order is affected by an interruption in USPS that was beyond our control.  Your order was transferred to the Postal Service as per our NINJA shipping guarantee.  However, due to an apparent chemical spill at a USPS distribution center, your order was part of thousands of packages from hundreds of businesses that were delayed or rerouted as a precautionary measure by USPS.

Unfortunately, we were not notified about this issue by the Postal Service and remained unaware until one of our team members inquired on behalf of our customers who failed to receive tracking updates.

The following is what was sent to us by our local Postmaster:

“The USPS package processing facility, Network Distribution Center (NDC) located on Phantom Drive has halted processing due to chemical spill reported 10/26/23.

Currently all mail during time of exposure are isolated at the NDC to be assessed which will result in delay.

NDC operations have been moved to a Priority Annex in St. Louis to resume processing.

We apologize for the inconvenience this has cost you.

We appreciate your patience while we work towards a resolve.” [sic]

Suffice to say we are deeply frustrated with this situation.  We ask for your understanding and patience as we work with the Postal Service to resolve your order’s shipping delay.  Please accept our apology on behalf of the USPS for the inconvenience.  In the meantime, all current orders are being shipped via UPS and UPS Surepost until USPS operations return to normal.

TLDR:

  • USPS closed a facility due to a chemical spill, didn't tell us.

  • USPS is working to get your package safely to their final destination.

  • Current orders are shipping via UPS and UPS Surepost.

We will provide more information to you as we receive it.

V/R,
