Understanding Trauma for Admins May 21
Trauma Informed Systems of Support

Sometimes, non-compliant student behavior is a trauma-related defense mechanism.
Seemingly innocuous events can activate a student’s flight, fight, or freeze response, and often children don’t know why they experience these reactions.

Join Jason Haap, Kathy Kettle, and Katie Marshall for this critically important workshop on understanding trauma and how Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) have an effect on brain development and learning; understand the signs and symptoms some staff members may experience when suffering from secondary trauma or compassion fatigue; and learn how a systems approach is the best way to counteract trauma and create an environment that’s conducive to all.
Don't miss "Understanding Trauma for Administrators," May 21st from HCESC.
