The Islamic State has issued a direct call to action in the latest issue of their online propaganda magazine, al-Naba, urging its followers to “rise up and set fire” to synagogues in the United States, Europe, Russia, the UAE, Syria, Tunisia, Morocco, and beyond.
The call comes in response to Israel’s temporary closure of the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
"In the face of the tragedy of the closure of the blessed al-Aqsa Mosque, it is incumbent upon Muslims everywhere - those who yearn to come to the aid of the site of their Prophet’s Night Journey - to rise up and set fire to the Jewish synagogues scattered across America, Europe, Russia, India, and elsewhere."
This message has since morphed in online jihadi forums and echo chambers to include significant chatter about the targeting Christian churches.

In addition, the FBI is warning law enforcement agencies nationwide of Iranian intelligence and security services continued plotting lethal attacks on current and former USGOV officials linked to the 2020 assassination of IRGC-Qods Force Commander Qassem Soleimani.
