Exercise Caution Near Embassy of Israel
Location: Johan de Wittlaan 5, The Hague
Event: On February 13, 2024, Dutch press reported security had been tightened around the Embassy of Israel in The Hague in response to a “serious” threat. The embassy is located at Johan de Wittlaan 5, a building which also contains other businesses. As a result of the threat, extra police have been deployed to monitor the area and one side of the dual carriageway has been closed off with barriers. Mayor Jan van Zanen issued an emergency order permitting police to stop and search people approaching the building. U.S. Mission personnel have been advised to exercise caution in the immediate area until these measures have been relaxed.
