The Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, Iran's second enrichment facility after the Pilot Fuel Enrichment Plant at Natanz, is situated on a military base operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Key sections of the Fordow facility are housed in tunnels deep within a mountain near the city of Qom.
Potential Iranian Responses:
Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Syria may target U.S. bases. Mining or otherwise obstructing the Strait of Hormuz. Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen may resume attacks on ships in the Red Sea / Gulf of Aden, along with the deployment of naval mines. Activation of proxy assets in western nations, including the U.S. homeland.
