SMS Alert Text:

Wagner PMC Group claims the capture of the Russian Southern Military District HQ within the city of Rostov-on-Don. Reports of one Russian gunship shot down.

Supplemental Info:

The significance of this development cannot be overstated. The headquarters of one of Russia's five military districts, and the key hub for Russia's Special Military Operation in Ukraine, has been surrounded by a heavily-armed Russian private military company. It is believed they have also gained control of the inside with minimal confrontation.

The M-4 highway connecting Rostov and Moscow has been closed south of the capital.

The Mayor of Moscow issued a statement saying the city is increasing counter-terrorism patrols.

A warning message for U.S. citizens from the U.S. Embassy is expected overnight.
