AlertsUSA urges caution & vigilance at federal bldgs across the U.S. after armed man attempts to breach FBI's Cincinnati offices, followed by chase. See email.

Initial reports indicated a male suspect armed with a nail gun and rifle attempted to breach the Visitor Screening Facility of FBI's Cincinnati office building while making threats. The suspect is reported to have fired several rounds from the nail gun before fleeing. A police pursuit ensued and suspect is currently in a standoff, though not in custody.

I-71 is closed between State Routes 73 and 68 in both directions until further notice. State Route 73 is also shut down in both directions between Mitchell Road and State Route 380.

AlertsUSA reminds readers that on June 7, DHS issued a new National Terrorism Advisory System bulletin warning the domestic threat environment was expected to "become more dynamic as several high-profile events could be exploited to justify acts of violence against a range of possible targets. These targets could include public gatherings, faith-based institutions, schools, racial and religious minorities, government facilities and personnel, U.S. critical infrastructure, the media, and perceived ideological opponents."
