Multi-agency response to hail of gunfire near the White House (17th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW). Facility locked down. Add'l alerts as warranted.

The gunfire was heard originating from just outside the White House grounds, specifically in the vicinity of 17th Street NW and Pennsylvania Avenue NW (northwest corner of the White House complex).

Reporters who were live on the White House North Lawn captured the moment on video and audio. They described hearing 20–30 rapid shots while filming.

DC Fire & EMS units responded immediately to the 17th Street NW / Pennsylvania Avenue NW intersection for two patients, and the immediate White House perimeter (including the North Lawn) is currently locked down.
