SMS Alert Text:

New ISIS propaganda poster in circ on social media threatens the "most harsh of catastrophes" for Christians. Scene is interior of a Texas church. See email.

Supplemental Info:

In the image below, the English statement is a direct translation of the Arabic above.

The phrase "Cross Worshiper" is a common Islamic slang term for Christians.

The calligraphic logo in the upper-right corner is for the Islamic State-affiliated Nour al-Tawhid Media Group.

The Arabic word "Nour" means light.

The Arabic word "Tawhid" means monotheism.

Per our interpreter: The Light of Monotheism.

The church scene in the background appears to be St Mary's Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, Texas (compare with the image in this link).

Note the raised wooden pulpit on the left, crucifix on the right, Latin inscription on the arch reading "Ego Sum Panis Vitae" ( I am the bread of life ), poster suspended on a pole to the left of the altar, and similar carpet color.

It is highly unlikely this church or location has been specifically targeted. The image used in the poster was likely chosen from the internet to fit the general theme of the message being conveyed.

The overall takeaway from this and many similar propaganda efforts, as well as direct threats and calls for attack, is for houses of worship to step up security measures.
