FEMA has made available a free mobile app for Apple and Android devices with tools and tips to keep you safe before, during, and after disasters. The app is available for Apple devices via the iTunes store and Android devices via the Google Play Store.

Those impacted by Hurricane Harvey are advised to also monitor both the Red Cross and FEMA on various social media platforms for timely updates on recovery assistance.

National Considerations

There is a distinct possibility Hurricane Harvey will temporarily impact oil and gas production and refining capacity in Gulf Coast facilities. In turn, this impact could result in a temporary increase in fuel prices and even temporary shortages.

Readers are advised to monitor local news for updates and may wish to consider filling up if located anywhere near the region.
