Al-Bayan, a newspaper aligned with Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, has published an article linking the September 11, 2001 attacks to the September 30, 2026 attempted hijacking of a Flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv. It treats the 2001 attacks as a turning point that led to a U.S. war, including in Iraq, and credits Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and other fighters with resisting U.S. forces there. The piece presents the Flydubai attempt, which it says nearly shifted the regional balance, as following a quarter-century later and as coinciding with a U.S. announcement of withdrawal from Iraq. It claims that al-Qaeda fighters defeated the United States in Iraq and that the al-Qassam Brigades and their allies later defeated Israel in Gaza.

The article says the conflict is not over and calls for further attacks on aircraft carrying Americans and Israelis, comparable to the Flydubai attempt. It argues that even an attack by a nonbeliever hostile to the United States and Israel would benefit Islam and Muslims. It recalls earlier threats of attacks far larger than those of September 11 and predicts the end of U.S. power, of Israeli control over the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and of the Saudi regime.

There are dates that do not pass on the calendar as other days do. They remain suspended in the memory of nations, as if time itself pauses briefly at them, then resumes to ask: what has changed since that day?

September 11, a quarter of a century ago, the early morning atmosphere in America was filled with a calamity that nearly descended upon them, altering the course of history and turning the world upside down. The disaster struck in their own home, and their prestige fell with the fall of the trade towers and the front section of the American Department of Defense. The greatest criminals in the world went mad and launched a fierce war of which Iraq was one of the arenas. The lions of Islam from the people of the Sunnah then seized them: such as Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, Abu Anas al-Shami, Abu Omar al-Baghdadi, Abu Hamza al-Muhajir the minister of war, and thousands of Sunni heroes—scholars, commanders, and soldiers—who wrote the most magnificent epics in the land of the two rivers, which history recorded with their blood. And today, in the same month (30 September 2026), a quarter of a century after the cause of the global war against Islam (11 September 2001), the same scene and the same method are repeated, but in the heart of the Islamic world… an attempt to hijack a Zionist-Emirati plane carrying dozens of Zionists, which nearly produced an event that might have overturned the enemies’ balances in the region. At the same time, the American Department of Defense announces its humiliating withdrawal from Iraq, having failed to achieve its goal of breaking the thorn of Islam, and praise be to God.

Iraq, after the occupation by the Americans and those with them from the nations of disbelief and the Safavid Rejectionists, was a place of frustration for the people and for many of the scholars, who believed they would never be defeated and that there was no benefit in jihad and resistance against them. Then Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and his brothers rose against them, supported by the sheikhs of jihad in al-Qaeda and other heroes, and that was the beginning of the end—cooling the breasts of the Muslims and distressing the enemies of the religion.

America was broken in Iraq at the hands of the mujahideen of the people of the Sunnah from al-Qaeda and other honorable men.

And the Zionists were broken in Gaza at the hands of the mujahideen of the heroic division and those with them among the honorable.

They are the two heads of evil in the world: the first the policeman of the world, and the second his spoiled son.

The war has not ended. The planes that carry the Zionists, the Americans, and the rest of the nations of disbelief warring against Islam still hover in the skies, and it is possible to target them as happened on (11 September) and (30 September). And if an operation is not carried out by a man zealous for his religion and driven to elevate the word of God, then the enemies of America and the Zionists today are far more numerous than before. Perhaps a man who believes neither in God nor in the Last Day will target them, and his operation will still redound to the benefit of Islam and the Muslims, as the Prophet—peace and blessings be upon him—said: “Indeed, God will support this religion with people who have no share [of good].” Al-Qaeda threatened years ago that it was preparing operations exceeding 11 September by tenfold, and that is not difficult for God. The day will come when the empire of evil, America, ends, and al-Aqsa Mosque will be purified of the filth of the Jews, and the Two Holy Mosques of the tampering of the House of Saud.

Congratulations to you, O heroic mujahideen of the people of Islam in Iraq, the Levant, Afghanistan, Somalia, the African Sahel, the Arabian Peninsula, and other arenas. Today you are writing the glory of the nation with your blood, and you will find your full reward with God. Whoever lives will see the fruit of the jihad of his brothers who preceded him, and it is as close as two bow-lengths or nearer.
