Tumbler Ridge is a remote community 508 km west of Edmonton. Information is limited.

The RCMP issued an emergency alert for the Tumbler Ridge area and surrounding region, warning of an active shooter. Residents are instructed to shelter in place, lock doors, stay inside homes or businesses, avoid leaving, and not approach any suspicious individuals.

The suspect is described as a female with brown hair, wearing a dress.
Reports indicate this relates to shots fired at a school (or school-related location), leading to lockdowns at local schools like Tumbler Ridge Secondary School and Tumbler Ridge Elementary School .
