According to Derbyshire police, a man in his 30s has been arrested after multiple pedestrians were struck by a car in Derby city center.

The incident involved a black Suzuki Swift and happened in Friar Gate. A number of people were injured, some of them seriously, and were treated at the scene by ambulance crews before being taken to hospital.

The investigation is in the early stages. It is unknown if the incident was intentional.
