Subject: Your update from The Dog & Partridge

This Week's Update
Hi there,

The countdown to the next Melee is well under way, a week this Friday!!
The buzz is very encouraging………

MARCHINGTON MELEE 7

Over the past few weeks we have been sending you updates on the bands etc.

This week is the turn of our local celebs DAVE THE CAT!

Comprising of local village musicians, sadly with no real biog or photos to work with, just take it from me, it will be the ideal way to finish the Saturday night proceedings as they hit the stage around 9.45, after the also Much anticipated, BEN HOLDER!

Expect a healthy selection of pop covers to boogie to and send you on your very Merry way after a good sample of the beers we have on offer!

On the beer front, we have added more beers from the likes of ENVILLE, HARTSHORNS & LITTLEOVER Breweries. There will be around 14 beers on offer at one time and getting through over 20 over the weekend with rotation on our 5 regular hand pumps - And a further nine on the stillage (or thereabouts!)

All we ask for now is some good weather (not that it matters too much we are in a marque anyway), and ask that you ping/forward our e-mail to friends and relatives and they pass on the good word too in a viral stylee-please!

The only admission all weekend is the purchase of a beaker to help our local shop complete their target for new fridges as part of our FRIDGE AID campaign! (£1.50)

View them at www.headsticks.co.uk
QE2 - QUEEN TRIBUTE

at MARCHINGTON VILLAGE HALL on Saturday 16th April (7.30pm)

It seems a way off doesn't it but it isn’t really, once the beer festival is over it’s about 5 weeks away!

With reserved tickets and purchases to date we are about half way there and we really haven’t gone mad on the advertising yet!!

Now would be a good time to commit and purchase your tickets from me at the Dog & Partridge (01283-820394) or from the local shop!

LIGHT AID

On the subject of the local shop, this event is also a fund raiser with the target this time focused on new shop lighting so I give you LIGHT AID!

If this event sells out we will have sufficient funds to revamp the shops lighting as we endeavour to make the shop more attractive and inviting!!

FRIENDLY WARNING

This is a fund raiser with door and some of the bar proceeds going to the shop fund-those who feel this is an open event to provide your own booze, it isn’t!

And if it’s too much trouble to support this event for it’s proper reasons please give it a miss please as it’s doing no one any favours and being asked to leave often offends! ALSO……….

POSTER POLICE

Myself and other event organisers occasionally go around the village and put up posters for events taking place in the village, often or not fund raisers. Well, some righteous soul takes it upon themselves to systematically walk around the village and tear them down as soon as they go up!

Please feel to call me at the Dog & Partridge and discuss your self appointed role as poster policeman and all round party pooper!

I think I speak for every event organiser when I say we will be only too happy to remove them when the event has taken place, and if you feel that everyone else should miss out because it isn’t your bag and you prefer to sit at home curtain twitch and being a miserable git then you carry on!
CHEESE & WINE NIGHT IS BACK!

Thursday 17th March (St Patricks Day)

As mentioned in the last news letter we have about 30 odd places for this event and half have already been taken, book now to avoid disappointment, it’s only a fiver!! (01283-820394)

FOOD

It’s finally happening- THE NEW MENU, it will be with us (we hope) within the next month, a change of graphic designers has caused some delay but our new guy is rising to the challenge and working on the menu as we speak!
Watch this space!!
