MARCHINGTON MUSIC CLUB
(SUNDAYS FROM 5.30PM)
KING OF ROME
SUNDAY 9TH SEPT
5.30 PM

Sadly due to another commitment The Most Ugly Child have had to pull this gig and won’t be with until the new year, meantime their replacements are THE KING OF ROME!

King of Rome are a Nottinghamshire based 5 piece acoustic band in the old tradition. Featuring guitar, fiddle, double bass, mandolin, Cajon and gritty vocals. Starting as a duo five years ago the band has grown to its current numbers steadily and has recently recorded their part on the cd ' Singing the Seam' an album of coalfield songs.

Expect to hear Americana, Celtic, Country and many originals about the mining villages, exile and travelling the roads...foot tapping fun and sorrow all in one evening.

SOUTHBOUND; SUNDAY 16TH SEPTEMBER 5.30 PM

Southbound are a kicking five piece band who play a lively mixture of Country Rock and Americana. Think Austin Texas not Nashville. It's music with an edge and a backbeat that rocks. Talented, multi-instrumentalists playing great songs with classy three part harmonies and tasty solos. Songs by the likes of Creedence Clearwater Revival, Johnny Cash, Old Crow Medicine Show and Hank Williams with some Everly Brothers, Chuck Berry and blistering bluegrass banjo solos thrown in for good measure. Classic Honky Tonk!

PAUL EVANS & CARLA BURCHELL; 23RD SEPTEMBER 5.30PM
Paul Evans and Carla Burchell play a mixture of acoustic blues, Cuban, country and rock songs. An entertaining duo who like to send their audience home singing!

MATCHBOX DYLAN; 30TH SEPTEMBER 5.30PM
Matchbox Dylan is a Folk/Blues singer from Derby, playing everything from the hits of Bob Dylan to the Delta Blues of Robert Johnson. With a unique, fingerpicking guitar technique; he also plays his own compositions including 'Soul Searching' and 'Matlock' as featured on Lincolnshire's Siren FM. "One man one speaker and one guitar and a lot of talent" -Bluesman Kev, Derby Gig Guide
