Subject: Support my 600 km challenge for Kids Cancer!

Hi Friend,

Most of you will know the routine by now - it is October and Mark is back on his bike pedalling for Kids Cancer.  I am penciled in to ride 600 km in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!

It is a bitter sweet year. A few more loved ones to add to Tante Sjaan and Tante Gerda from previous year. My niece Colleen passed a few months ago - taking away a great Namibian doctor and a fine mum. And right now by brother going though treatment.

Add to that today was the funeral for a great cycling friend who passed last week - not cancer but a cyclist gone doing what she loved - cycling. The hard part is she was younger than me - by a few years.

The cause has been true for 12 years now. More Australian children lose their lives to cancer than any other disease... It would be amazing to find the causes and nail those

Kids should be living life, NOT fighting for it.

My goal as always is to raise funds to support these brave kids and their families as they face the scariest time of their lives. In the last 12 years we have together raised over $40k - would be amazing to make the big $50k this year.

You will recall that I have done some big rides for Kids cancer - across the map type of rides - not going to do that this year. Early days for plans but the thought is to go cycle the rail trails of Victoria and look for orchids. That was last year's plan and the year before - maybe this year events will not get in the way

On top of all that I have committed to walk the Sydney 7 Bridges walk also for cancer research on October 26 - not walked 28 kms in one go since the army days in the 70's - will be walking heaps too in training. More about that later.

Please support my 600 km challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page

Your donation will support Children's Medical Research Institute to develop treatments and find cures for childhood cancers.

Thank you for your support.

ps The long time watchers will know there is matched donation day during the month - feel free to wait until then. I will remind you.
