Welcome Merideth Kaye Clark!
Big news! I'm so thrilled to announce that Merideth Kaye Clark is joining the teaching staff here at Resound NW! Beginning this month, Merideth is available for private voice and guitar lessons.

If you've been following Portland theater and music, you may have either seen Merideth perform or heard about her. She is a consummate performer, warm and friendly colleague, and has talent for days! (For me personally, it was so cool to hear that she played Elphaba in the musical Wicked on the National Tour! And also she performs a one-woman show where she sings all the songs from Joni Mitchell's "Blue" album. I mean, who doesn't love Joni Mitchell?!?)

We are so happy to have her joining our staff as a voice and guitar teacher to support students with their goals. Whether you want to refine your vocal skills, explore your voice for the first time, learn new song repertoire, or practice accompanying yourself on guitar, Merideth is ready to help!

Merideth joins our already awesome team of teachers, which includes Courtney Freed, Claire Hudkins, Nicholas Meyer and myself. Merideth's schedule currently allows her instruct approximately 5 students on Monday afternoons and evenings. And I have a feeling those times will go fast! If you're interested in scheduling or have more questions, feel free to contact us at info@resoundnw.com

Also, next weekend Merideth is performing in a classic "supper club" event, which also includes performances my Resound NW student Michael McDonald! You can read more about that performance below.

Cheers!
Daniel Buchanan

Merideth Kaye Clark is thrilled to finally be in the studio sharing her love of singing! She has an MFA in Musical Theatre from San Diego State University and continues to work internationally as a performing artist, songwriter, writer, and producer. Most of all, though, she loves playing her guitar, singing, and sharing music as a lifestyle.

She has played definitive leading theatrical roles nationwide, such as Elphaba in the First National Tour of Wicked, Eva Perón in Evita (Northern Stage), Nancy in Oliver! (5th Ave, Seattle), and has originated roles in two off-Broadway musicals. Clark is a sought-after concert artist described as "plain astonishing" and "a masterful performer" with "powerhouse pipes." She is a multi-instrumentalist and plays anything with strings, most notably the guitar, dulcimer and viola. Her solo album Young Stellar Object garnered critical praise from New York theater reviewers and the studio recording of her acclaimed Joni Mitchell's "BLUE" concert was successfully funded on Kickstarter in only four days.

Portland area credits include: Co-writer and star of Winter Song (Portland Center Stage); Cathy, The Last Five Years (Portland Center Stage); Tzeitl, Fiddler on the Roof (Portland Center Stage); Clara, Light in the Piazza (Portland Playhouse, Drammy Award Winner); Lilli/Kathryn, Kiss Me Kate (Clackamas Rep).

She is currently touring her concerts Joni Mitchell’s BLUE and Happy Days Are Here Again: The music of Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand.
