Singing Your Story

Date: Saturday, July 7, 2012, 2:00-5:00pm

Level: Intermediate/Advanced
Location: Resound NW Studios in Goose Hollow
(Limit 10 Students)

Everyone has a story to share.  Telling a story gives us the power to know ourselves and connect us to one another, and telling a story through song only makes the story more potent.  Singing Your Story is an illuminating group class to express yourself with the power of music.  Together we will uncover what is imbued in your chosen song that is meaningful to you. That which connects you to the song is what gives you freedom and power to share it with others.  Let’s explore YOUR story.

Each student will receive individualized coaching on his/her song in addition to group work.  Singing Your Story is co-taught by Resound NW founder Daniel Buchanan and special guest Sara McWilliams.

  • Each student should bring one song to sing at the class. Please come to class with your song fully learned and memorized.  The song can come from any genre: musical theater, classical, pop, rock, folk, opera, etc.  When choosing your song, please consider something that speaks to you personally. It might be a new song or one you have been singing for years.  An accompanist will be provided.
  • This class is for adults of all ages and students at least 16 years old.
