In honor of The Hand of Vengeance winning Best Erotic Sci-Fi in The Romance Reviews Reader's Pick Awards, I was going to put it "on sale."
But while I was in KDP looking at the reports on the three self-pubbed books I have, I realized that the book that sold best, by far, was Theirs to Punish, which is priced at $2.99. That was a book I had no expectation for, since A) 8000 people already bought it as part of the box set Bound, Spanked and Loved and B) I also gave it away to the 3000+ people on my mailing list for free. So I wondered if it's just because $2.99 is the magic price point.
I guess it's author ego, but if I had to choose between making more money and having more books read, I'd choose more books read, so I decided to lower the price on my other self-pubbed books (The Hand of Vengeance & Stepbrother Rules) to $2.99 in hopes of getting more books in the hands of readers. To those of you who paid full price for them--I'm sorry!! Or rather, thank you!! Being an indie author is a constant learning process.
What's your sweet spot for book pricing? Are you more likely to pay $2.99 for a book than $3.99 or $4.99? I would love if if you'd reply to this email and let me know. In the meantime, here are all my books priced at $2.99... __________
