New research finds world-class companies now spend nearly 30% less per employee on HR

While typical companies saw the recession drive up HR costs by over 11% from 2008 to 2010, world-class HR organisations have largely avoided the impact and managed to reduce costs by more than 13%, according to new Book of Numbers research from global consulting firm The Hackett Group, Inc.

New publication provides help with managing mobility costs

Global mobility specialist IPM has put together a document to help companies manage their costs in this area more effectively.

“Inevitaby, HR global mobility departments are being pressured to reduce costs and find easier and simpler ways to address international mobility needs," says IPM’s managing director, Alan Bentley, who has just returned from speaking about this subject at an international conference in Paris. "The secret is to reduce costs without negatively impacting on your business strategy.”

CIPD hails ‘good news week’ for UK economy

The latest official labour market statistics, published earlier today by the Office for National Statistics (ONS), show that unemployment fell by 17,00 during the quarter to February, to 2.48 million – a fall of 0.1%. The number of people in work increased by 143,000, to 29.23 million.
