Welcome to Re:locate Awards Special, the e-newsletter that keeps you up to date with the latest on relocation’s premier awards, brought to you by Re:locate, the magazine for HR, global managers and relocation professionals. This year’s awards attracted a record number of entries, with our three new categories drawing considerable interest. The shortlists for eight of the ten categories are revealed below. Judging of the remaining categories is now underway, and shortlists will be announced later this month. Also in this edition of the newsletter, we profile our talented team of independent judges, start looking forward to this year’s Gala Awards Dinner – and our special celebrity guest speaker and host – and report on an exciting new charitable initiative for the relocation industry. Don’t miss our full-colour supplement on this year’s awards, with case studies, photographs and comments from our judges, in the Summer 2011 issue of Re:locate.
Re:locate Awards 2010/11: judging panel Each year, our Re:locate Awards judging panel, made up of independent experts, reflects the diversity of those working in the world of relocation and international assignments and the wide range of suppliers and professionals who support relocation and mobility. This year’s talented team of judges is no exception. All are distinguished figures in their fields, and we are very grateful to them for the part they play in making the Re:locate Awards a success. Re:locate Awards 2010/11: join the celebration! The winners of this year’s Re:locate Awards will be announced and presented with their trophies at the annual black-tie Gala Awards Dinner – now established as the highlight of the relocation calendar – which this year takes place at the Institute of Directors, in London’s Pall Mall, on Thursday 12 May. Don’t miss the chance to support your profession, entertain your clients, network and socialise – all in one evening! The event starts at 7pm with a champagne reception and live music, followed by a three-course dinner with fine wines. Our special guest speaker and host for the evening will be Floella Benjamin, now Baroness Benjamin, distinguished broadcaster, actress, writer, cultural ambassador for the London 2012 Olympic Games, and international children’s campaigner. Re:locate Awards 2010/11: new charity initiative to be launched At this year’s Gala Awards Dinner, Re:locate will be announcing details of Making a difference, a brand new charitable initiative for the relocation industry. “By working together across the profession, we hope to pull together knowledge and resources to support UK and international charities and to help bring relief in disaster areas,” explains Re:locate’s managing editor, Fiona Murchie. “This year, as Baroness Benjamin is president of Barnados, and as homes and the support of children are so fundamental to relocation, we will be fundraising for a charity that is devoted to providing support and stability for children without the support network of families. “Our second charity for 2011 will be VSO, which works with so many companies and organisations to bring expertise where it is most needed. “With so many companies committing to corporate and social responsibility projects this is the perfect opportunity for your organisation to get involved, share knowledge, engage your employees and have some fun along the way.” Please email fiona@relocatemagazine.com Gala Awards Dinner opportunities Keep up to date with awards news!
