Re:locate Awards 2012/13

The closing date has passed, the submissions have been counted, and it's official: this has been the best year so far for entries to the Re:locate Awards, which have become the ultimate accolade for everyone working in relocation, whether on the HR or the supplier side. 2012/13 saw an increase of nearly 50% on 2011/12’s total.

Shortlists for nine of our 10 categories are revealed below. Judging of the remaining category, Green/CSR Achievement, is now underway, and the shortlist will be announced in April. Over the next few weeks, the judging panel will face the unenviable task of choosing an overall winner from each category.

Also in this edition, we look forward to the annual Gala Awards Dinner, to be held in London on Thursday 9 May, with special celebrity guest speaker and host Stephen Cole, and profile our team of expert, independent judges.

Entrants from across the relocation spectrum are celebrating their success in the first phase of the judging for the Re:locate Awards 2012/13.

Between them, the 10 awards recognise individuals, teams, policy and innovation, with a choice of categories for HR and service providers. This year’s awards attracted a record number of entries – an increase of nearly 50% on 2011/12.

The shortlists for the service provider categories reflect the many different types of organisation involved in relocation, including serviced apartment providers, removals experts and relocation management companies, all of which contribute a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Large companies like Cartus, HCR, SIRVA and Mobility Services International are side by side with smaller ones, such Chiltern Relocation and PetRelocation.

Judging of the remaining category, Green/CSR Achievement, is now underway, with shortlists to be announced in April.

Says Re:locate’s managing editor, Fiona Murchie, “Now that the shortlists have been unveiled, we’re eager to see who this year’s winners will be. With ever-increasing globalisation, the need for the mobility industry is also growing, so it’s no surprise that this has been our best year yet for entries, with stiff competition across all categories.

“I’d like to thank everyone who entered – and our hard-working team of expert, independent judges – for supporting excellence in relocation.”

The winners will be announced and presented with their trophies at the annual Re:locate Awards black-tie gala dinner, to be held on Thursday 9 May at the Institute of Directors, in London.

The evening will be hosted by international broadcaster and foreign-affairs authority Stephen Cole, whose roles as anchor of Al Jazeera English, moderator at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, and chairman of the Institute of Diplomacy and Business give him a unique perspective on global trends and events. Re:locate Awards 2012/13: meet the judges

Each year, our Re:locate Awards judging panel, made up of independent experts, reflects the diversity of those working in the world of relocation and international assignments and the wide range of suppliers and professionals engaged in supporting relocation and mobility.

This year's talented team of judges is no exception. All are distinguished figures in their fields. We are grateful to them for contributing their time and expertise to making the Re:locate Awards a success.

Two or three members of the panel will judge each category. The exception is the Relocation Personality of the Year award, the winner of which will be chosen by all the judges.

Judges are not invited to judge a category their company has entered, and sponsors, supporters and professional endorsers do not influence the judging process.
