A little bit of news

I have a new website! And you can find it here.

Eventually, I want to add my extra epilogues to it within password protected pages.

My website includes my new tagline, which I plan to take to events where I meet readers and sell my books.

romance that's dirty, flirty and deliciously irresistible.

What do you think?

Fake a Chance on Me

I'm releasing the last rugby book in the Bulls Rugby series this year, and I'm already madly in love with the rugby player. If you loved Connor, then you'll adore Lucas Knight.

Here's the schedule: As always, newsletter readers will be the first to see everything.

July - cover reveal

August - tropes, blurb and extra artwork reveal

Early September - ARCs available. I intend to offer them through NetGalley again.

Friday 26th September - Fake a Chance on Me released

If you want to be part of any of this, whether that's sharing the cover on your socials, reading an ARC or sharing other things in the build-up to release, please let me know.

Fake a Chance on Me is about to go to my editor. However, I wanted to share a little with you. I've included an unedited excerpt below.

You can pre-order the ebook now here.

And UK based readers can pre-order the paperback here.

An Excerpt from Fake a Chance on Me

Coach opened his hands wide. “What if I wasn’t joking? A couple of public dates between Lucas and the lovely Gabi, a primary school teacher who hasn’t caused any trouble in this town like a certain dickhead rugby player—”

“Hey,” Lucas said, but everyone focused on Coach.

“It would go a long way to helping his reputation because if she’s willing to date him, he can’t be a total dickhead. And that should give me less fires to put out in the run-up to my wedding.” Charlie looked around the group. “What I say goes no further than this room.”

Everyone nodded under his death stare.

“Gabi’s only friend seems to be my fiancé. Rose said she’d like Gabi to socialise a bit more. She hasn’t seen much of this city since she moved here, and if Rose and I were to move, Gabi wouldn’t have anyone but her sister. Not that we’re going anywhere.”

Max side-eyed Lucas, and Josh shook his head.

Coach continued, “Besides, it would be good for her to get out from under Evie’s shadow. She’s too over-protective.”

Josh attempted to interject.

“I said what I said, Josh. Evie is a special breed of woman, and you’ve said she’s been intense with Gabi since she arrived in town last year.”

Josh shrugged. “Their relationship is complicated. Either way, it doesn’t matter. Evie won’t go for it.”

“I’ll talk to Evie,” Charlie said more confidently than anyone else believed.

“Do I get a say in this?” Lucas asked. “What if I don’t want to do it? And more importantly, who’s to say she wants to do it?”

“You’re always telling me you can get any woman,” Max said.

“Not you, too! I thought we were friends,” Lucas said with a palm against his heart.

Max shoulder barged him. “It would be good for you to have someone nice in your life, even to meet up with,” he said. He looked at Lucas’ phone as a message from Lexi flashed up. “It might help you.”

“It will help your reputation in this town. And as you’re meeting as friends, I don’t need to worry,” Coach said. His pinched eyes gave a warning that made Lucas shudder. “Make sure you don’t do anything other than a friendly date, though, or I’ll cut your balls off.”

Lucas gripped his crotch. “Not Pinky and Perky,” he said.

“You named your balls?” Josh rubbed his forehead. “Only you, Lucas.”

“One thing, though,” Max piped up. “How are you going to get Gabi to agree to this, because from what Evie’s said, there’s no chance?”

They all stood in the circle, considering the question, when a quiet voice asked, “Get Gabi to agree to what?”

The group turned to the doorway. A slouching Gabi stood beside a foot-tapping, red-faced Evie. Gabi bit her lip and avoided eye contact with everyone.

“You’re in so much trouble, Josh,” Evie growled. “And when I’m done with him, you’re all next.”

Recipe from Regally Binding

A common microtrope in my books is where the man cooks for the woman. I'll include a recipe from my books in some of my newsletters this year. First up, and probably not the best meal for spring, is Slow Cooker Bear Stew from Regally Binding, my bodyguard/princess, enemies to lovers, forced proximity romance.

You can see a short excerpt where the stew is mentioned, followed by a stew I make several times a year.

Slow Cooker Bear Stew

“I call this Bear stew.” Liss eyed him warily as he chuckled. “No bears were harmed in making this stew except when I dropped a ladle on my foot. But there’s a secret ingredient, and I’ll only tell you if you’re nice to me.”

Liss gave him a wink. “How nice are we talking?”

Bear’s Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed. “Not that nice yet. Strike said he’d pop in when you woke.”

“Shame.” She licked her lips and delighted in the blush covering his cheeks.

“Fine. I’ll tell you.” He beckoned her closer with a crooked finger. Instead of telling her his secrets, he kissed her neck and brushed his lips across her earlobe. She shivered against his smiling mouth. “The secret is one slice of teddy bear ham. Everyone needs a bit of Bear inside them, especially you.”

Recipe - makes 4-6 meals

Ingredients

For stew:

Plain flour

600g stewing beef

500ml beef stock

200ml red wine (Merlot is ideal)

1 chopped onion

6 potatoes

4 carrots

1 small swede

1 medium leek

2 tablespoons of tomato puree

1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

3 bay leaves

1 crushed garlic clove

Paprika

Thyme

Rosemary

For authentic Regally Binding Bear Stew, you'll also need a slice of Billy Bear ham. But you don't need it for a general yummy stew.

For dumplings:

50g suet

100g self-raising flour

6 tablespoons of water

Method

  1. Cube beef and cover with plain flour and a dash of salt and pepper. Brown this in a frying pan with olive oil.

  2. Finely chop the onion and leek.

  3. Peel and cut the potatoes, carrots, and swede into chunks.

  4. Place the browned beef, onion, leek, potatoes, carrots and swede into a slow cooker with the stock, wine, bay leaves, Worcestershire sauce, tomato puree, garlic, paprika, thyme and rosemary. Set to high for an hour.

  5. After the hour, turn it to low (for a minimum of four and a half hours)

  6. If it doesn't appear thick enough three hours before serving, add cornflour (check instructions on the packet for how to do this).

  7. Forty minutes before serving, add suet and self-raising flour to a mixing bowl with the cold water. Make into eight dumplings and add them to the slow cooker stew.

  8. Break up a slice of Billy Bear ham (see photo below from billybearclub.com) and add it to the slow cooker when you add the dumplings.

  9. Serve with fresh bread.

Anastasija White's sports romance is released on 28th May and it looks amazing.
