Anticipation nibbles at my skin as his smile turns rakish. “I’d really like to try that sexy game of hide and seek. It’s one of your fantasies, right?”

“And we should make the most of this house while Bailey is at his mum’s. I might not need to stay here soon. My house will be ready in two weeks.” His face falls, and he opens his mouth, but I cut him off. “Sexy hide and seek is the perfect way to round off the weirdest year. You count to fifty, and I’ll hide.”

He kisses my neck. “Thank you for reducing my stress. But you have to do one thing.” I rub my finger across my lips, and he watches the action with dark eyes. “You need to wear the hockey jersey I gave you.”

“Okay. Turn the lights off and count to one hundred. I need the extra fifty to strip.”

His growls follow me all the way out of the room.

I’m going to put the jersey on, and nothing else.

And he’ll only learn that by catching me.
